"Add to a Category" checks all categories by default on Opera and K-Meleon

I'll try this on another computer tomorrow to be sure that it's not fault of my local proxy/browser settings.

If you still see the problem
If you still see the problem could you describe the steps you take following the page load. I had a problem like this that was fixed in the past, but it's always possible that a corner case still exists.
FYI: Opera is my primary browser so there shouldn't be anything Opera specific that I wouldn't see.
